Bobby Shmurda celebrated this Father’s Day by giving back to his community. On Sunday (June 20), the Brooklyn-bred rapper hosted a “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch,” which offered 200 underserved families free meals and haircuts.

The charitable event was centered around dads and their kids, but everyone at the Win Shelter in Brooklyn, New York was able to get a free Caribbean brunch, which included dishes like jerk salmon, curried chickpeas, stewed chicken, mac and cheese, mixed veggies and more.

According to a press release, Shmurda and his team also handed out free gaming consoles, board games, action figures, jump ropes, costumes, footballs and other toys to kids at the event. Dads were treated to new clothes and books, and three barbers were in attendance to provide free haircuts to dads and their kids to help them “feel their best.”

The release also noted that all leftover food and items from the gathering were donated to the CAMBA Men’s Shelter in Brooklyn.

Both Shmurda and his friend and collaborator Rowdy Rebel have been giving back to their Brooklyn community since their release. Shmurda was freed from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility in February after serving over six years in prison. However, he will remain on parole until 2026.

Fans of the rapper are still waiting for him to deliver new music, but will get the chance to see him perform live later this year at Made In America and Rolling Loud in New York and Miami. The 26-year-old previously teased a “hot summer” on Instagram, alluding to possible new music on the way.

Shmurda has been seen linking up with Rich the Kid, Rebel, Lil Durk and other artists since gaining his freedom and is rumored to be working with producers Mike WiLL Made-It and Zaytoven for his next release.
