New Bobby Shmurda music is on the way. The “Hot N***a” MC took to Instagram on Wednesday (April 7) to tease that “it’s gonna be a hot summer” and shared a clip of him rapping in the booth. Shmurda has been seen linking up with Rich the Kid, Rowdy Rebel and Lil Durk since he was freed from prison in February and is also reportedly teaming up with producers like Mike WiLL Made-It and Zaytoven for his next release.

Earlier this week, the Brooklyn native also gave fans a hint about what he has in store. Sharing another image of him at the mic, Shmurda wrote, “Ima be with y’all inna ‘HOT’ Min.”

The update arrived just a few days after the rapper confirmed he’d be “dropping something this month” on Instagram. It’s unclear exactly what form the new music will take, though fans are guessing that “HOT” will mark Shmurda’s return single, and that he’ll follow up the track with a project this summer.

Fans have been anticipating new music from Shmurda since he was released from prison two months ago. The 26-year-old has linked up with past collaborators and friends — like Migos, Meek Mill and more — but has only dropped hints about upcoming music. Some believe it’s Shmurda’s strained relationship with Epic Records, which he signed a record deal with in 2014, that’s caused the delay.

Back in 2016, Shmurda told REVOLT that his relationship with the label “is strictly business; nothing more, nothing less.”

“I signed a contract, so I do have things I got to do for them,” he continued. “But besides that, it’s strictly business. So, if they do decide to drop me, I’ll be independent and I’ll stay independent. But besides that, I still have a contract with them.”
