The Honorable Louis Farrakhan gives uplifting message to DMX’s kids: “Your father is not gone”

The Honorable Louis Farrakhan called DMX a prophet at his “Homegoing Celebration” and told the rapper’s kids powerful words about their dad.

DMX’s “Homegoing Celebration” funeral service took place on Sunday (April 25) at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York; and it was a powerful and equally perfect way to say “see you later” to a legend.

This ceremony was a more intimate one from the “Celebration of Life” memorial service that went down the day prior (April 24) at the Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn. This was a close-knit service that included less people, and where DMX’s kids and friends got to speak more personally about him.

One of the most inspiring moments came from the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, who attended the funeral via webcam. He gave uplifting words to X’s mourning children, but, honestly, everyone watching the event in sadness was able to pull something from it. “He actually was [a prophet]. God used his life to educate — to teach — and show the world that you can come up the way he did, but struggle and overcome the struggle, and reach behind your pain, and your suffering, and yourself to affect the whole world that is just like you.”

He continued to his kids: “I want to tell you something about Jesus and why your sadness won’t endure for long because you will learn how to contact your father. When Jesus was along us, brothers and sisters, He had a shorter life than brother Earl. But, the time that He spent among us — His suffering, His pain, His deep love and commitment to the Father — He told us how to contact Him after He was crucified, resurrected, and left us. Your father is not gone. He’s absent, but you can bring him back. Listen to the words of the master at The Last Supper.”

The Honorable Louis Farrakhan then continued to describe how Jesus broke bread with each of his disciples. “You can’t bring something new and better in the world when you’ve only known a good life. Jesus did not have that kind of life. He was hated without a cause, He was persecuted, and crucified, but yet, He remains in the memory of billions,” he went on.

“Look at Earl. Look at DMX. He didn’t have an easy life, no. He had a successful life because he found out his purpose and before life was over, he found the door.”

Farrakhan continued, “What did Jesus do? They call in communion... Your father has 13 (it’s been reported that he has 15) children. Each of you has a piece of him... that belongs holy to you. But, if you have communion with your father like you have communion with Jesus, as Jesus said to his disciples, ‘I will be with you ‘til the end of the world.’

“So, my dear beloved family, don’t grieve to the point where you can’t see your way. Sorrow, yes. But, the scripture says joy is coming in the morning.
