Pretty Ricky artist Baby Blue was reportedly shot in Miami, Florida on Wednesday (April 21) and is currently in critical condition. According to the artist’s team, which sent a statement to Hollywood Unlocked, Baby Blue was attacked by two armed robbers at the SpareZ bowling alley earlier on Wednesday, where he was attending a release party for his new single, “Jerry Rice.”

Baby Blue’s team further stated that during the attempted armed robbery, the artist was fending off his two attackers when he was shot and left in a “critical condition.” In a graphic video filmed at the scene and reposted by Hollywood Unlocked, Baby Blue can be seen laying on the ground while those around him call out for help.

According to the statement from Baby Blue’s team, the Florida native was rushed to a nearby Miami hospital after the shooting and is currently “fighting for his life.”

Fans took to Twitter to wish the Baby Blue a speedy recovery.

“Omg I hope Baby Blue from Pretty Ricky is ok,” one person tweeted.

Prayers Up For Baby Blue… Dude Just Got Shot Up While With His Friend In Miami Smh,” another tweeted.

So far, the artist’s brother, Pretty Ricky co-founder Spectacular, has not commented on the shooting. Baby Blue and Spectacular formed Pretty Ricky along with Slick ‘Em and Pleasure P in 1997. The group reached platinum-selling success in 2004 with the release of their hit single “Grind With Me,” which was included on their 2005 debut album, Bluestars.

Pretty Ricky was slated to go on tour with the likes of Omarion, Soulja Boy, Ashanti, Bow Wow and more last year for the “2020 Millennium Tour.” Unfortunately, the star-studded tour was cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
