We already know that Keyshia Cole and Ashanti’s Verzuz battle was legendary, but their post-showdown stats are even more impressive. According to MRC Data, the two R&B singers have pulled a record-breaking 11.3 million streams since their battle, with more and more fans listening to their music everyday. To break it down: Keyshia’s music has received 6 million streams since the Verzuz, while Ashanti’s stats have made up for the remaining 5.3 million. Even in the days leading up to the battle, MRC Data shows that the stars’ music streams had increased by 178 percent.

Since the series began, Verzuz battles have proven to boost sales and streams for the artists involved. Keyshia and Ashanti also enjoyed record-breaking success during their battle, as the two songstresses brought in a historic 6 million viewers on Instagram.

After the battle, Ashanti also shared her new single “235 (2:35 I Want You),” which garnered over 536,000 U.S. streams within its first two days.

Ashanti and Keyshia’s battle was a massive success, but some fans were worried that it might not happen. After being postponed twice, Keyshia arrived to the showdown late, prompting concern and complaints from fans. However, the Oakland-bred star later revealed that technical difficulties had caused the hour-long delay.

“I want to apologize for not sitting my ass in that seat. Ok? Because I was there and I should’ve sat down,” she told fans. “I should’ve just sat in the seat no matter if I felt like the visual wasn’t clear... they said my music wasn’t gonna be right or whatever it was.”

“I think, more so than anything, people wanted me to sit, be present... even though they didn’t know that I was present,” she added.

Yesterday (Jan. 31), Keyshia also revealed that she’d be following up the Verzuz battle with her eighth studio album.

“Album8!!! February 5th!!!!” she announced on Instagram. See her post below.
