Last night (Nov. 11), REVOLT premiered the second part of Kanye West’s “Drink Champs” interview, which saw the Chicago multi-talent just as animated as he was during the first. Among the many topics brought up was that of Dave Chappelle, who — much like Ye himself — found himself within the sights of cancel culture following his recent Netflix stand-up The Closer, where he continued to speak on his issues with the LGBTQ+ community.

During the special, the comedic legend declared himself to be “team TERF,” reflected on the death of transgender comedian Daphne Dorman, and overall doubled down on his stance in regards to being anything but transphobic:

“I have never had a problem with transgender people. If you listen to what I’m saying clearly, my problem has always been with white people … Gay people are minorities until they need to be white again.”

As previously reported by REVOLT, critics of The Closer (including some Netflix employees) staged a walkout in response of both Chappelle and the company’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos, who later stated that he failed to properly communicate to those concerned. Chappelle later revealed that he was open to discussing the matter with said protesters, yet would not be “bending to anyone’s demands.”

Naturally, Kanye West had plenty to say about the matter, and used the opportunity to send shots toward a wide range of his fellow peers:

“Man, if they don’t get the fuck up outta here, bro. Cancel what? What we cancelin’ out here? … Man, enough of this shit already, boy! Y’all just wait until someone ain’t affecting the stock and you just take them out one by one to impose fear on anybody with freedom of thought. I smack the shit out you … None of y’all Hollywood plant-ass niggas tell none of us what we do. This our culture now. It’s up. You can’t cancel none of us.”
