T.I. recently sat down for a hilarious interview with Dilan and Zaria on their “Arts & Raps” YouTube show. During the interview, the “Swagga Like Us” emcee struggled trying to explain why he called himself the “Rubber Band Man.”

“Why do they call you the Rubber Band Man?” asked Dilan.

“Okay, well, see, uhh…in a land far, far away called Campbellton Road — times before I was doing what I’m doing right now — I had to kind of fulfill my financial needs in the area of manufacturing and distribution of illegal pharmaceuticals,” he replied.

“Big words that we don’t even understand,” Dilan said.

“Well, you know what. Don’t even worry about it. Let’s just say I had to keep my money in my pockets neat,” Tip added.

After Zaria explained that the trio were going to create their own “Rubber Band Man” as an art project, she asked the Atlanta bred rapper who was his favorite rapper right now. He named his son, Domani, as his top choice. Dilan asked, “What about Kanye?”

T.I. replied, “I mean, Kanye — I like old Kanye. I like old Kanye, but I mean I have a lot of respect for him and his musical genius. His personal views on things — we don’t see eye-to-eye, but I respect his genius.”

The Paper Trail rapper also answered questions about his “expediTIously” podcast, his alleged strip club and he defined what a “pimp” is by using Malcolm X in his example.

Aside from the light-hearted interview, Tip recently celebrated his 40th birthday by announcing his forthcoming album titled The Libra (The Legend Is Back Running Atlanta). He also dropped the self-directed visuals to his new Young Thug-assisted single, “Ring.” Yhe LP is reportedly slated for release on Oct. 16.
