G-Eazy has announced his plans to release a new project. Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening (May 24), the “No Limit” rapper revealed that he’s used social isolation to “self-reflect, grow and evolve,” and that his time at home has inspired a new effort, called Everything’s Strange Here.

“[Eight] weeks ago I didn’t know I needed to make this,” G-Eazy wrote in the post’s caption. “The world has been turned upside down and inside out — but a lot of us have had the fortunate opportunity to self reflect, grow and evolve.”

“This project is a representation of where my heart and head have been at,” he continued. “It’s honest and pure — it’s me. Take it or leave it — this is how I feel.”

The Bay Area native also teased a sequel album to his 2014 offering These Things Happen and gave Everything’s Strange Here a June 5 release date.

“These Things Happen Too, right around the corner,” he wrote. “With that being said, Everything’s Strange Here, June 5th.”

According to a press release, Everything’s Strange Here will be a “special side project” created entirely during quarantine, which finds G-Eazy “branching out into new genres and sounds with a mix of new originals and covers of his favorite artists.”

Since his 2017 album The Beautiful & Damned, G-Eazy has dropped off two EPs — B-Sides and Scary Nights. So far this year, he’s teamed up on several collaborations, including “Still Be Friends” with Tory Lanez and Tyga, “Cruel Intentions” with Delacey, “2 Seater” with Offset and YBN Nahmir, “Lotto (Remix)” with Joyner Lucas and Yandel, “The End” with Kossiko, “Angel Cry” with Devon Baldwin and “Moana” with Jack Harlow. Last week, he released his first solo single of the year, “Free Porn Cheap Drugs.”

Besides working on Everything’s Strange Here, G-Eazy also spent his quarantine helping out at-risk kids in the Bay Area. The “Me, Myself & I” rapper and his Endless Summer Fund joined forces with Larking Street Youth Services and the Mi Morena food truck to deliver meals to local children who were no longer being provided school lunches, due to Coronavirus closures.

“The Bay is my home and I want to help and support my community however I can, which is why I am partnering with Larkin Street Youth Services to provide meals to kids during this crisis,” he said in a statement at the time. “We are all in this together and I hope others will join me in supporting our communities however they can.”
