Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne’s long-awaited collaborated project I Can’t Feel My Face could arrive this summer, which is also when the Dipset rapper is slated to be released from prison.
In a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club,” Santana’s wife Kimbella and his brother and manager Twin revealed that I Can’t Feel My Face, which has been over a decade in the making, is in its final stages.
“We do have a whole, like, 25 songs that we are about to go through and pick through, we already spoke to Wayne,” Twin said. “Him, [his manager Cortez Bryant] and everybody’s on board. So, we are gonna put that out within the next six months.”
The news follows Wayne’s appearance on Santana’s recently released #FreeSantana mixtape, which features Weezy on “Boiling Water” and “Bloody Mary.”
A summer release for I Can’t Feel My Face would also coincide with Santana’s prison release date. Kimbella and Twin said they haven’t been given an official date for Santana’s release, but they’re hoping for June.
“Hopefully he’ll be home,” Twin said. “We’re waiting for a date.”
“We’re waiting for a date, but the paperwork has been submitted,” added Kimbella. “I’m super excited.
Santana is currently serving his 27-month prison sentence on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Back in March 2018, the rapper had attempted to bring a loaded .38 caliber handgun and eight Oxycodone pills into the Newark Liberty International Airport. Santana initially fled the airport and later turned himself in to authorities, pleading guilty to the federal charges.
Santana was originally looking at a February 2021 release date. However, back in December, Kimbella revealed he was likely to receive an early release.
“Summer 2020 my HUSBAND will be home, bring on the new year so we can start our new beginning!!” she wrote on Instagram. “We did our longest leg in the feds now we’re on our shortest leg count down til he comes, the kids and I are so looking forward to it! This year was tough but we got through it through the grace of GOD!”
