Ice Cube wants his BIG3 league credited by the NBA after they revealed an all new format for the All-Star Game.

The NBA announced a few weeks ago that the format for their All-Star Game would be different this year. Every quarter for the All-Star Game will turn into a mini-game for charity. The final quarter will be untimed with a target score that will decide which team wins. The scores will be reset to 0 at the start of the second and third quarters, then reinstated at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The team that wins the All-Star Game will be the team that reaches a target score, which consists of their combined score during the first three quarters, plus 24 points, as a tribute for the late Kobe Bryant. For example, if the total scores after the first three quarters is 100-95, the target score to win the game will be 124, 100 plus 24.

Cube retweeted a post from the NBA about the change and replied, “Oh really? Where should I send my invoice?”

He then tweeted, “The forward thinking of ⁦@thebig3 is taking our credit for helping the ⁦@NBA make the 4thQ of yesterday’s ASG one to remember. Many will try to pull the Elam Rule out their asses, but we proved in 2017 that no game clock is the future. #nogarbageminutes.”

Cube’s BIG3 league has been playing with target scores since the league was founded in 2017. At the 2019 REVOLT Summit in Los Angeles, Cube spoke on why he started the BIG3.

“It was really all about something I wanted to see,” he said. ‘As an artist, it would kill me if someone came up to me at 33, 34 years old, and say it’s over man, you done. It would be so much to me, left on the table, and that’s how I feel about these athletes. You know grey hairs don’t mean you done.”
