Jim Jones reveals the supergroup that should battle Dipset on Verzuz

The ‘El Capo’ rapper had to choose between The LOX and G-Unit.

Since Verzuz’s inception, fans of the series have been sharing their desired matchups and contemplating what two competitors would make sense in the battle ring. During a recent episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory & Mal,” the cohosts discussed some possible opponents for Dipset and narrowed the ideal matchup down to two supergroups: The LOX or G-Unit. They then called Jim Jones to hear his thoughts on battling both groups.

“Well, people would love to see Dipset vs G-Unit, right? the “Vamp Life” rapper asked. “But I doubt that will happen. There is no camaraderie there, and what we gonna listen to? Twenty 50 Cent records pretty much? But let me stop taking jabs.”

G-Unit and Dipset’s past includes diss tracks and years of animosity that have resulted in more recent exchanges between 50 Cent and Jones. Given their history, the “Harlem” emcee went on to explain that he “wouldn’t exactly count” the battle out, but warned that there would probably be more tension and violence than there was in the Jeezy and Gucci Mane showdown. “It would probably be even more aggressive than even the Jeezy and Guwup Verzuz. I wanna wrestle and fight and shit,” he explained.

Contrarily, the El Capo rapper believes that a showdown between Dipset and The LOX would make more sense for various reasons.

“Dipset and The LOX, a lot of camaraderie, a lot of good energy, a lot of energy to bounce off each other,” he explained. “Cam, Jadakiss and Styles P literally started the same year to get into this game off of freestyles and things like that. We represent the uptown part of New York City. We represent the culture for New York City. We’ve been pillars in this industry for the past 20 some odd years along with the whole Ruff Ryders enterprise. I think would be more suitable.”

While Jones’ conversation with Budden’s podcast mainly focuses on Dipset, his discography as a solo artist may go up against French Montana’s catalog as the “Unforgettable” star has expressed interest in battling him. “I think I wanna go against Jim Jones,” French recently told Complex. “Since we did beef, I think it’s something we should do.”
