To close the summer out, legendary hip-hop group The LOX dropped off their new album Living Off Xperience at the end of August. Today, they share the official video for the project’s intro track “Gave It To Em.” Over production from fellow OG’s Swizz Beatz and AraabMUZIK, the group delivers a reminder of their longevity in the rap game.

The music video showcases a classic NY block party vibe. Every year, The LOX, Juices For Life, and PCNY commit to helping those in need and this year, they came together to host a bookbag giveaway for the community for the 2020-2021 school year. The video flips back and forth between scenes of what makes NYC the place it is: the community lining up to support each other during the bag drive, people out on the streets having fun and playing ball, and of course, the rappers flexing next to fancy cars.

On his verse, Sheek Louch makes sure to remind people of The LOX’s endless hits under their belt:

Plant based, vegan, or beef I don’t care how you chew ‘em. LOX got too many f**kin hits, it’s hard to brew ‘em. Been underrated, but the streets they gotta Suu Woop ‘em, I’m like “Thank you cuz’” just because fame and money bring jealousy, that’s what it does. N****s lie on IG, just to get a buzz.

The Living Off Xperience project is equipped with 14 songs in total with guest appearances from DMX, T-Pain, Jeremih, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Clay Dub, Dyce Payne, and Oswin Benjamin. Prior to “Gave It To Em,” they released the video for the project’s finale track “Loyalty and Love.” Mixed with old school footage of street life in New York, the video shows the group performing in different locations in Yonkers.
