G Herbo’s team has issued a statement denying all allegations after he and several others were indicted on fraud charges.

On Wednesday (Dec. 2), Machine Entertainment Group released the statement in an Instagram post. “G Herbo has been charged with several offenses in Massachusetts, however, he maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court. Herbo has legal representation in Massachusetts via Prince Lobel, whose team has reached out to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Massachusetts to make arrangements for Herbo’s appearance. G Herbo will appear in Massachusetts whenever he is required either in person or via Zoom.”

According to NY Daily News, the PTSD emcee, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, his manager Antonio “T-Glo” Strong, Chicago rapper Joseph “Joe Rodeo” Williams, Steven Hayes Jr., Demario Sorrells and Terrence Bender were all allegedly part of the $1.5 million scheme.

Authorities believe the group of men took information from the dark web to pay for vacations out the country, yachts, private jets, security guards, private chefs and limousine rides. Strong, who is believed to be the leader of the group, allegedly used a stolen credit card and fake driver’s license to purchase two designer puppies.

Just a day before the indictment, Herbo was named on Forbes’30 under 30” list. The Chicago native took to Instagram to celebrate the news. “NEVER PAID ATTENTION 2 ACCOLADES…CAN’T START NOW … & I CAN’T STOP NOW!!” he wrote.

Over the summer, the “Swervo” emcee teamed up with Audiomack to launch a mental health initiative for Black youth. “Swervin’ Through Stress: Tools to Help Black Youth Navigate Mental Wellness” aimed “to connect Black young adults with therapeutic resources that help inform and improve their mental health in pursuit of a better quality of life,” according to their mission statement.

“‘Swervin’ Through Stress’ is a project I put together to put 150 kids through therapy,” he told the Chicago Reader. “At their age, you never know how critical it can be to have someone to talk to — to have someone help you better yourself and your situation.”
