If Meek Mill’s pride in being a Philadelphia native isn’t evident through his music, it’s clear in his efforts to give back to the community that raised him. The rapper has attempted to better his crime-ridden city through various initiatives, and he has no plans on letting up this holiday season.

On Sunday (Nov. 29), the “Going Bad” emcee expressed his desire to partner with Playstation or Xbox for his annual toy drive in Philly. “Playstation or Xbox should do a collab with us in the hood with those PS5s and new Xboxs this Christmas for the ones who can’t afford em!” he wrote on Twitter. “I’ll put up money…I do big toy drives in Philadelphia every year let me know.. them games keep them kids out of them bad environments!”

Meek has actively been looking for ways to advance his community, making several efforts this month alone. Following the recent killings of King Von and Mo3, the “Dreams and Nightmares” emcee shared his idea to give record deals to local artists in Philly that squash their beefs. Then last week, after Lil Baby revealed he was donating proceeds from “The Bigger Picture” to charity, he asked that the Quality Control artist contribute some of the money to help build a recreation center in his neighborhood. “Let me get a lil, but for a rec center in my hood for WiFi and computers & I’ll swap a favor for your hood too!” he tweeted at the time.

The star’s wish to team up with Playstation and Xbox come as no surprise, especially considering the video game consoles have been all the rage since they released. The high demand has made them difficult to obtain as they are selling out in stores and reselling for costs higher than the retail prices. Recently, Lil Baby played the role of Santa as he gifted one of Monica’s sons with a signed PS5 after his “Trenches” collaborator was unable to obtain one on her own. With his desired partnership, Meek will be able to do the same for children in Philadelphia.
