Hours after President Donald Trump announced that he and First Lady Melania Trump were diagnosed with Coronavirus, he will now be spending the next fews days at a local hospital.

According to the White House, Trump will be hospitalized at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. On Friday (Oct. 2), the president’s spokeswoman said he “remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms and has been working throughout the day.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days,” press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. “President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady.”

Since Friday morning, the president has had a fever. Trump’s physician said that he “remains fatigued, but in good spirits.”

“He’s being evaluated by a team of experts, and together we’ll be making recommendations to the President and First Lady in regards to next best steps,” wrote Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley. He said that the president was given a Regeneron polyclonal antibody cocktail and has been taking aspirin, vitamin D, zinc, famotidine and melatonin.

Late Thursday night (Oct. 1), Trump revealed his diagnosis on Twitter. “Tonight, [Melania] and I tested positive for COVID-19,” he wrote. “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Melania tweeted, “As too many Americans have done this year, [Donald] & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

All of Trump’s upcoming campaign rallies and events have been temporarily postponed or changed to a virtual setting.
