Once you hear that lighter flick, you know it’s a wrap! After almost two years, Lil Wayne is finally dropping a new album.

The rapper tweeted a video announcing the release of his upcoming album Funeral. In the video he raps, “welcome to the funeral, yeah / closed casket as usual/ yeah, welcome to the funeral.”

Last summer, Wayne spoke about the album during an interview with Wild Wayne of Q93. He said that the album was already completed, but that it was still being perfected.

“You know how it work,” he said. “My album’s always done. It just takes Mack to come in there to rack up a couple of songs and name them. That’s how it go round here. I work every day. It just take them to come in and say ‘let me get these 20 songs, can I have these and name them,’ and we go from there.”

Wayne also spoke to XXL last year revealing that he connected with Lil Baby and Big Sean for new music for his new album.

“I’ve worked with a bunch of artists already,” Weezy said. “I don’t want to give up the goods on too many. Lil Baby. I’m a big Lil Baby fan. So it was a swap type of thing. You send me a song, I send… that type of thing. But actually he demanded that he work with me. That’s a new thing these days. Back in the days when I was doing it, there was no such thing as you send me your song. You had to be in the studio with that person. He demanded that. So I respected that. We got to do the session together. We was out here in New York, not long ago. Probably a month ago. It was him, I and Big Sean.”

Wayne also gave fans the link to his Funeral merchandise line. The collection includes graphic tees, vinyl, physical copies of the CD, long-sleeve shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, and beanies. The prices range from $13 to $60.

The Young Money boss originally told fans the album would be released this February. A fan messaged Wayne on Instagram asking for an update on the album and Wayne responded. “Feb my G.” Funeral will serve as a follow up to his 2018 release, Tha Carter V.

Wayne is also set to make upcoming appearances on Elliott Wilson’s “Car Test” and N.O.R.E. and EFN’s “Drink Champs” podcast.
