As 2019 turned to 2020, Nipsey Hussle was remembered by his girlfriend, Lauren London, and close friend, YG. The two reflected back on their year, which was ultimately defined by the loss of a boyfriend, friend and great Los Angeles talent.

“2019 changed the rest of my Life,” London wrote on Instagram on Wednesday (Jan. 1). “My existence shifted. Half of me is in Heaven and the other half is here to pick up and continue.”

“Things will never be the same,” she continued. “But everyday I still wake up and Pray Lord, Use Me. Long Live Ermias.”

London also previously teamed up with PUMA to commemorate her late partner. Nipsey had worked with PUMA prior to his murder to create a capsule collection for his apparel company, The Marathon Clothing. The line arrived posthumously in September, and London chose to honor the partnership with a new campaign.

YG also took to the ‘Gram to remember his fallen comrade.

“Success is a blessing & all but 2019 took my brother,” the “Mamacita” rapper wrote on Wednesday (Jan. 1). “I’ll give all this sh*t back & some to get my ni**a back I miss you foo. THE LEGEND [Nipsey Hussle]!”

YG paired the genuine caption with a throwback photo of the two of them.

J-Roc, Nipsey Hussle’s former bodyguard, chimed in under the post.

“I feel the same way,” he wrote. “LONG LIVE THE LEGEND NIP HUSSLE THA GREAT.”

Nipsey’s name returned to headlines a few months ago when Wack 100 debated his “legendary” status.

“The man died with a million followers. No radio hits. No platinum hits. No world tours,” he told TMZ. “After he died, he went platinum, sold a bunch of records, followers went up nine, 10 million. First of all, we gotta define what a f**king legend is and what it f**king ain’t.”

Nipsey was tragically murdered in front of his clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019.
