Baby Keem debuts new single during “Fallon” performance

Keem’s ‘the melodic blue’ officially arrives at midnight.

When the clock strikes midnight (Sept. 10), fans will be able to press play on Baby Keem’s official debut LP the melodic blue, which chronologically follows 2019’s DIE FOR MY BITCH. As the Las Vegas star revealed on social media, the project will contain 16 songs with additional assists from Travis Scott (“durag activity”), Don Toliver (“cocoa”), and Kendrick Lamar — the last of whom already made a mark with “family ties,” and may or may not make a couple of other appearances throughout.

Last night, Keem made an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” to debut another single from the melodic blue titled “issues,” a self-produced offering that sees him harmonizing about relationships and mental health:

“I been duckin’ my friends, I been stuck in my ends, memories about people all in my head, first come to mind is my momma buyin’ me Jordans, are we really made equal? ‘Cause everybody got plans, I can’t go ghost, I face demons, don’t let it defeat you, out in my hands, I know it’s hard for you to come out the trance, I look at my self in the mirror when I can, let’s speak the truth, tell me in pieces…”

The performance matched the melancholy nature of the track as well, with Keem on stage solo, sitting on a bicycle with smoke, changing colors, and footage of a mountainous landscape cast behind him.
