Just last week, G-Eazy unveiled his These Things Happen Too album, which was led by his hit single “Breakdown” featuring Demi Lovato. The two decided the song deserved a live performance to enhance its message, so they hit the stage on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (Sept. 28) to deliver an emotional rendition of their collaboration. The performance opens up with Demi taking center stage as she sets the tone with her vocals:

You know, been fighting my demons, but they ain’t fighting fair/ But I keep saying “Everything’s alright, I swear,” all alone in a dark space, ain’t no light in there/ What’s fucked up is I might actually like it there, pouring everything on this paper my pen is on/ Feel like I’m breaking in places they put the pressure on

I’m the one in my circle they all depending on/ To do it though, I need these drugs I’ve become dependent on, someone tried to confront me, now we don’t get along/

In the music video for “Breakdown,” the two artists came face-to-face with the headlines they’ve made over the years, from Lovato’s 2018 heroin overdose to G-Eazy’s 2018 arrest on charges of assault, drug possession and resisting arrest at a Swedish club.

The Bay Area’s very own made his return with a brand new single “At Will” last month and he tapped in with rising star EST Gee for the assist. He also continued a 2014 favorite in his single “Running Wild” single featuring an assist from Kossisko and production by DAKARI. Eazy has been relatively active in 2021, dishing out assists on tracks like “Astronaut In The Ocean (Remix)” with Masked Wolf and DDG, “10 Toes” alongside fellow Bay Area spitters ALLBLACK and E-40. He has also dropped off tracks like “A Little More” featuring Kiana Lede, “Break From LA,” and “Provide” featuring Chris Brown and Mark Morrison.
