Earlier this month, Common released his latest body of work A Beautiful Revolution, Pt. 2, the sequel to last year’s A Beautiful Revolution (Pt. 1) that contains 11 cuts and additional features from Jessica Care Moore, Morgan Parker, Brittany Howard, Isaiah Sharkey, Marcus King, PJ, and more. One particular standout from A Beautiful Revolution, Pt. 2 is the Karriem Riggins-produced “When We Move,” which features Black Thought and Seun Kuti and is centered around Black culture and its influence on the world:

“A slave’s nostalgia, move through the woods with vigor, when we got free, the world moved with us, now they wanna change their bodies, go figure, used to call us, now they wanna be niggas, we the rivers that move through the jungle, yo, when we move, we make the world wonderful...”

Following a rousing performance of the track on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” fans now get to see an official visual for “When We Move,” which is filled with beautiful Black men and women living it up at a party. Common can be seen in the middle of the dance floor, while Black Thought speaks his mind from a wicker chair — elsewhere, Kuti performs his contribution from a stage. All of this is interspersed with footage of Black leaders and communities all over the world past and present, adding to the powerful vibe of the overall clip.

In related news, this past February revealed that Common would be producing a biopic about civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer titled God’s Long Summer, which will be based on both the Charles Marsh-authored book of the same name and Hamer’s own autobiography To Praise Our Bridges. It’s hopeful that we’ll receive additional information about that forthcoming release soon.

In the meantime, you can enjoy Common, Black Thought, and Seun Kuti’s “When We Move” video.
