Raj continues his streak of weekly releases, as promised.

Rexx Life Raj is dropping off weekly releases until his full project makes landfall, and he hasn’t missed a beat. First up was “Lockheed Martin,” followed by cuts like “HIM,” “Alpharetta,” “Red Lobster Biscuits,” and “Kimbo Slice.” His latest offering “Calling” sees an assist from Terrance Martin and is just the tip of of the iceberg in regards to how many songs they have made together over the years. Over the somber drums, Rexx speaks on what his true priorities are:

Stand on them n***as who doubted, I ain’t forgotten/ If I told you what I net last year, I’d be outta pocket/ I wish I felt happiness in a profit, crazy I don’t find much happiness in deposits

Right before he dropped this latest track, Rexx checked in with fans as he reflected on what this new music means to him. “While my mom was battling cancer I remember her saying ‘When this is all said and done a lot of beautiful music will come from this..’” he typed. “Working on this album has been a trip because these weren’t the songs I wanted to write but now they’re the songs I NEEDED to write. My hope is that it helps to heal others as much as it’s helping to heal me.”

In terms of visuals, Raj shared videos for cuts like “Bad Bad Bad” and “Bounty,” and the latter track boasts production from !llmind. The song is the outro track from his California Poppy 2 project, which made its debut back in November. The eight-track body of work included features from Kojey Radical and Juvenile. The first installment of California Poppy came out in 2018 and boasted assists from Will Fraker, and the legendary E-40. In 2019, Rexx Life Raj continued his Father Figure series with its third addition Father Figure 3: Somewhere Out There.
