Kota The Friend kept his fanbase well-fed for these recent months by dropping off consistent visuals from his Lyrics to GO, Vol. 2 project. He now delivers a change of pace by sharing a new single from his upcoming project, which would be his 3rd solo album. In his new “Outside” track, Kota rides over a chipper beat making for a feel-good preview of what’s to come:

Woke up feeling all refreshed, hit the big button like reset/ Good things all that I reflect, mirror man, hmm have we met? Hoes talk a lot nowadays/ Foes gon plot nowadays, draft picks flop nowadays, I be on top nowadays, haters real hot nowadays, yeah

Hoppin in the car, take it to the hood, all praise be to God/ Doin real good, like I told you I would thoough/ Homie never ever let em tell you who you are, yeah/ Most folks do not wanna see you win, got rich just so I could say I did

Last month, Kota The Friend tweeted, “I get to make music for a living so ima thank the universe by making a lot of it,” and he has surely kept his promise. In the first quarter of 2021, he has already dropped off two complete projects, the aforementioned Lyrics to Go, Vol. 2 and shortly after he teamed up with Statik Selektah and shared the freshly released To Kill A Sunrise.

His last full-length effort prior to that was 2020’s Everything. Equipped with twelve records in total, Kota joined forces with Bas, Joey Bada$$, Kyle and even his son, Lil Kota and more, who are featured guests on the project. He also kicked off 2020 with his featureless project Lyrics to Go, Vol 1.
