It goes without being said that Conway The Machine is one of the most potent, cohesive lyricists of our time. Through recent years he’s proven time after time that he belongs in these daily rap discussions and you would truly have to be either sick in the head somehow or just flat out weird as hell to believe that The Machine isn’t applying heavy pressure any time he steps in the booth. It’s almost like it’s an automatic win for the fans with every release. Today, the Buffalo rapper is deep in his bag with his latest album La Maquina and it most certainly has a high replay value.

Serving as the follow up to his 2020 solo studio album From King to a God, La Maquina holds some weight through the entire project and Conway doesn’t plan to slow down any time soon. With his Drumwork record label in full effect, he’s about to drum up some some serious activity across the board. He recently spoke with DJ First Class about the album and how it came about as well as other matters. Here’s what The Machine had to say when he was asked did he feel like he was slept on as a lyricist:

Yea and no. No because I feel like the people that matter to me and that I fuck with and respect as icons and legends in this shit……the entire culture of Hip Hop respect and fuck with me. Niggas like Busta Rhymes, Raekwon, Ghostface, Method Man, Prodigy (R.I.P.), Pete Rock, DJ Premier, guys like that. They give me my flowers. I don’t really need flowers from anybody else. Other than that, in the public eye, a lot of people overlook me and I really feel like that so yea I agree.

Laced with a total of 11 records, La Maquina includes features from 2 Chainz, J.I.D., Ludacris, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Jae Skeese, Camino and 7xvethegenius. If you’re reading this, press play below.
