Multi-platinum selling hitmaker Trippie Redd has released his first-ever rock album NEON SHARK vs. Pegasus [Deluxe - Presented by Travis Barker], available now via 10K Projects/Caroline. Though the rapper has always been known for mixing his music up with influences of alternative, rock, and pop, the body of work surely shows the rapper embracing rock-n-roll like never before.

NEON SHARK shows the artist fully committing to his rock leanings with the help of Blink 182’s Travis Barker. The new project includes 14 new tracks and features from blackbear, Machine Gun Kelly, Chino Moreno, and more.

Last year, we received the aforementioned Pegasus project a project spanning 26 tracks and including assists from names like Lil Wayne, Future, Doe Boy, Sean Kingston, Busta Rhymes, Young Thug, Lil Mosey, and more. Pegasus is also preceded by the tracks and/or videos for “Sleepy Hollow,” “I Got You,” “Dreamer,” and “Excitement.” Prior to that, a deluxe edition of last year’s A Love Letter To You 4 was released in February 2020, which saw eight new tracks added to the mixtape and additional collaborations alongside the likes of Chance The Rapper, Russ, Lil Tecca, Lil Durk, G Herbo, Young Thug, and SahBabii.

In a previous interview with REVOLT, Trippie delved into how his songs don’t necessarily relate to stories from his own life all the time, but instead, he makes songs for others to relate to:

The songs that I make don’t really apply to my life. I make them for other people... I’m just trying to go through different vibes. I don’t want to make the same shit… it’s hard to explain. It [gets] hard in the studio trying to come up with different concepts... You [have to] put yourself in other people’s shoes or surround yourself [with] people who...can put a different type of vibe in [your] mind. I go off of other people’s energy. I make my songs ultimately for people to relate to them, and that’s a concept everybody can relate to.
