Last year, Savannah Cristina graced us with the soulful EP Self Care, which contained seven soothing tracks for fans to enjoy. This week, the Floridian songstress delivers a new single titled “Body Work,” a come hither-style cut that sees her singing to a love interest about certain gym life motivations:

“24/7 in the gym all week, in the 9/11 with the edges on fleek, yeah, I can’t even lie, I’m a certified freak, never make a promise that this body can’t keep/

You know that this body work, you just want this body work, so I’ma make this body work, want my heart but you gotta get this body first…/”

Courtesy of Heatwave Global, the accompanying visual shows Cristina in a grueling, yet very sensual workout session with a trainer — a clear match for the song’s titillating subject matter.

In addition to Self Care, last year also saw the release of loose singles like “Selfish 2020,” the Flo Milli-assisted “F’d Up,” and “Comfortable,” the last of which marked Cristina’s at the time new venture with Warner Records. Prior to that, she released the well-received efforts Mango Season and Florida Girl in 2017 and 2018, respectively.

In a fairly recent interview with DJ Smallz, Cristina spoke on her personal keys to success:

“For me, kinda embracing the losses, because the wins are always gonna come. So like, just knowing that, you know, this too shall pass. Like, things just happen. So like even with like Corona and quarantine, it’s like, everybody’s like, ‘2020 is a dub.’ Like, it’s an L. But I’m tryna just think of it as, everything happens for a reason, now it’s time for you to prepare for your W.”

And with that, fans can press play on Savannah Cristina’s “Body Work” video below. Hopefully, more music is on the way.
