It’s been a couple of years since Savannah Cristina released the 14 track project Florida Girl. Following a few dope singles from the Broward County talent, fans now get to enjoy the new EP Self Care, which sees seven soulful tracks for the masses to enjoy. One standout from the body of work is the Dollaz N Dealz-produced title track, which provides the kind of mental therapy needed giving the chaos that we’re all currently experiencing:

“I felt this before, and I can’t afford to cry I got work in the morn’, I got bills, I got family ties, you play with the piece of me I try not to reason with, not trying, you made it clear, wonder why you even here/

Don’t you know I? I can’t be caught up on no bulls***, I don’t got the time, don’t care who you with or what you doing, I’m doing it right, self-care, self-love, selfish…/”

Speaking to Genius, Cristina further explained what sparked the self-care theme, relating it to a real moment in her life at the time of inception:

“I think the day that I decided to make “Self Care,” was after a month of not being happy with the way my life was going… And I reached my breaking point basically. I think it was me expressing how I felt really honestly to myself. The music is so soothing and healing and it inspired me to be like, you know what? “Self Care.” I need to heal myself.”

In addition to Self Care, this year saw the release of loose singles like “Selfish 2020,” the Flo Milli-assisted “F’d Up,” and “Comfortable,” the last of which is notable for being Savannah Cristina’s first release marking her new deal with Warner Records.
