Last November, Jim Jones dropped off El Capo (Deluxe), which added on an additional 15 tracks to the original release with a slew of collaborations alongside the likes of Conway The Machine, Dave East, Maino, and fellow Dipset star Juelz Santana. Just after the new year arrived, he revealed a new visual from the project for the Santana and Marc Scibilia-assisted “Election.” For his latest, the Harlem legend follows that with two new clips — one for “MMTC” with Vado and RAIN, and another for the bittersweet “Bad Boyz,” which features verses from Axel Leon, Nino Man, and the late Fred The Godson. Having succumbed last year from conditions related to COVID-19, Godson’s posthumous appearance reminds us just how much he commanded the microphone and the pen:

“My crew killin’, all four of us in a six, man, Lou Williams, you’re here for the basketball reference, if we blast a basket, a casket you’ll rest in, or you’ll need a tube, an IV please, watch duke yell like two Ivy Leagues…/”

In addition to clips of Fred The Godson during better days, the WillC and Jim Jones-directed video for “Bad Boyz” shows the other artists in a room looking pretty Negan-esque, with leather jackets, barbed wire bats and a bevy of beautiful women. “MMTC” — which stands for “mink match the coupe” — takes a similar approach, minus the “Walking Dead”-inspired fare.

Liberated back in 2019, El Capo saw 16 cuts and assists from Trav, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Cam’ron, Ball Greezy, Benny The Butcher, Curren$y, and more. Since then, Jim Jones has kept the streets fed with both his solo work and as a feature — he even reconciled with French Montana following a long-standing beef, subsequently joining the fellow New Yorker on the CB5 single “Too Late.”

Press play on both “MMTC” and “Bad Boyz” below.
