The pieces are coming together for the long awaited Tupac Shakur biopic, and the latest update comes with the announcement of another major casting.

According to Deadline, Dana Gurira, also known as Michonne in The Walking Dead, has joined “All Eyez on Me,” the biopic on the life and times of the revered superstar, to play the very woman described as a “black queen” in 1995’s “Dear Mama.” Taking on the role of Afeni Shakur, Gurira becomes the latest addition in the Benny Boom-directed film, produced by James G Robinson and David Robinson of Morgan Creek Productions. Hip-hop producer LT Hutton is also involved in the production chair, as a release date has yet to be announced.

Last month, Demetrius Shipp Jr was named as the person taking on the role of Pac.

As production continues to takes place in Atlanta, producer LT Hutton has been teasing the film via Instagram with a string behind the scene photos.
