What a time to be a Mac Miller fan! Fans cannot stop swimming in Mac Miller posthumous releases. Since the rapper passed away in 2018, his label released Circles in 2020, followed by a few singles he was featured on, like “I Believed It” by Dvsn, “Time” by Free Nationals and “That’s Life” by 88-Keys. Today (Oct. 15), the rapper’s 2014 mixtape Faces has been re-released and is now available on streaming services and vinyl for the first time. Having been originally released on Mother’s Day seven years ago, his beloved fans cannot stop rejoicing now that his catalog is seeing the light of day on streaming services.

Ahead of the re-release, there was a new music video for “Colors and Shapes.” Directed by Sam Mason, it features a dog making its way through surreal dimensions and outer spaces. In a statement about the visual, Mason gave his thoughts: “The track felt very visual to me—like it had its own world. This atmospheric night time place that was sometimes dangerous, sometimes comforting, then I saw a picture of Mac Miller’s dog, Ralph and a story emerged. To build it out I asked Malcolm’s family to send me bits and pieces from his childhood, scenes from the town where he grew up, objects, toys from his room — little pieces of his life that I extrapolated outwards and used to inspire the story. In the abstract, it’s meant to be a video about childhood — growing up as an artist and the highs and lows of that experience. It’s sort of a look at the emotional and difficult and perilous but noble path of an artist.”

Mac had so much to live for and his fans miss him more than words could describe. If you’re reading this, download and stream Faces now! Rest easy, Mac.
