New-age R&B princess Kaash Paige is continuing her track-by-track series, and the latest installment “Soul Ties” just hit the web today. The track is off her recent Teenage Fever release, and in the clip she is seen singing a snippet of the song and then goes on to break down what it means to her.

“It was initially called ‘Love Songs (part 2),’” she says in the video. “I came up with ‘Soul Ties’ because I feel like the beat is so dark and it needs to be super emotional. There’s this upcoming artist named ssgkobe and he’s super fire and I wanted to hear his voice on it. I feel like it makes yon, I need you back. I feel heartless without you.”

The new visual arrives after three previous ones she’s released for her track-by-track series: “London,” “Grammy Week” featuring fellow Texas native Don Toliver, and “Lost Ones.” The series intends to keep the momentum of her 2020 full-length project release Teenage Fever alive. The 13-track project dropped earlier in August and saw features from TDE’s very own Isaiah Rashad, Don Toliver, ssgkobe, 42 Dugg, and K CAMP. Prior to that, she released her 2019 EP Parked Car Convos, which gained traction thanks to her popular hit “Love Songs.”

Earlier this year, REVOLT honored Kaash Paige as an artist to watch this year, giving props to “Love Songs” which climbed up the Billboards Hot R&B Songs chart just before her EP dropped at the end of 2019. In a recent interview, she speaks on how being from Texas has influenced her charisma today:

It kind of just made me super groovy and understand the culture more. Now there’s different types of artists and different types of talent. It shaped me into what I wanted my sound to be and what I wanted to put on for my community.
