Currently, Don Toliver is sailing off the successes of the Travis Scott-led JACKBOYS compilation and his official debut album, Heaven Or Hell, which debuted within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 with an impressive 44,000 equivalent album units sold. Looking to keep that momentum going, the Houston artist drops off a new visual for the album cut “After Party,” which sees him on a tour through the streets, strip club and gas stations. It’s a perfect vibe for when — assuming the current Coronavirus pandemic ever ends — you’re out at all hours of the night with your friends:

Sippin’ on that Henn’, I know you love that Bacardi, 1942, I take you back in that ‘Rari/

“Switchin’ lanes and I’m seein’ lights, you know I watch the curb/

Smokin’ weed, you know I’m gettin’ high, you know it calm my nerves/

Trappin’ hard, pumpin’ non-stop, the bag I had to earn/

You can try, but you might fail again, you know you never learn.../”

The Sonny Digital-produced “After Party” was first premiered via Travis Scott’s documentary Look Mom I Can Fly, and was created along with a couple of other Heaven Or Hell tracks during Scott’s ASTROWORLD sessions. Speaking to High Snobiety, Toliver spoke on how getting his music to H-Town strip club DJs helped lead to his eventual success:

Houston plays a big part of my process and sound, because before I was able to meet Travis Scott, I had to take over the city. That means every night for like three to five months straight I was in every strip club, every club, in every DJ’s face getting my records spun. Spending time with DJs, figuring out the game, and how to play.
