It’s been almost a year since Davido released his second studio LP A Good Time, which sees 17 tracks and features from Summer Walker, Popcaan, Naira Marley, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Gunna, Chris Brown, and more. Now, he returns with a new single titled “FEM,” which is produced by Napji and sees him continuing to life his life to the absolute fullest:

“E be like you don dey talk too much, small talk you don dey talk who talk, fem, oboy you don dey doo too much/

Small talk you don dey look who talk, Fem, person wey dey find the pitty, omo no dey give me itty bitty…/”

The accompanying visual is definitely one of celebration, with plenty of dancing, bike riding, and overall flexing by the artists and all other participants.

Prior to A Good Time, Davido delivered the projects Omo Baba Olowo (or Son Of A Rich Man) and the EP Son Of Mercy in 2012 and 2016, working with the likes of Tinashe, Ice Prince, 2 Face Idiba, Simi, Nasty C, and more. This year also saw some notable singles and appearances from the Nigerian star, including “Sheri” with iTasha, “Banger (Remix)” with Preto Show and Dandy Lisbon, “Won Le Ba” with Shizzi and Wale, “Betty Butter” with Mayorkun, and “Abracadabra” with BOJ and Mr Eazi.

Speaking to the Recording Academy, Davido spoke on having history in both Africa and America:

“I actually started out rapping. I actually started rapping first. I used to live in Atlanta and I used to just rap, make beats. Then I went to Nigeria for Christmas one time and I just fell in love with African music. I was like, ‘Yo, I think I want to do African music.’ And it worked out. If I would have rapped, I’d probably still be at home.”
