Presumably, Doja Cat is still sailing off the success of her number one hit “Say So.” This week, she drops off a new track titled “Unisex Freestyle,” which sees her on a stream of consciousness over her own production:

“Yeah I got juices for him, I got jobs for him, here’s the uniform, you a corn on the cob, I’m a unicorn, they all bump it in they rides, had to toot my horns/

Had to do a little something I ain’t do before, had to switch up on the ride, turned the roof to doors, make him feel some butterflies when I zoom the Porsche/

Had to cop a couple bags, needed two of course, hey, okay, okay Assume position, you ain’t eating with us, honey you can do the dishes/

We don’t take no new auditions, it’s a euphemism, f*** what they been saying, y’all don’t know what you been missing…/”

The lighthearted track was first revealed during an Instagram Live stream, where she explained the track’s creation:

“[‘Unisex Freestyle’ is] kinda fire. I like it, I like it, and I know why it’s bad, but I still like it. But, It just needs to be mastered, like — made better. … And I made this beat, this song is cute as f***. … I like this song, it’s funny.“

Doja Cat is not new to random, viral drops, as she had somewhat of a commercial breakthrough thanks to singles like “Candy,” the Tyga-assisted “Juicy,” and the polarizing cut “Moo!,” which earned her a slew of commercial followers back in 2018. Her sophomore studio LP, Hot Pink, also earned Doja Cat a top ten appearance on the Billboard 200 several months later thanks to the Tik Tok-fueled success of the aforementioned track “Say So,” which featured assistance from Nicki Minaj on the more recent remix.
