If you thought The Weeknd was done with his After Hours saga following the gruesome “In Your Eyes” clip, you would be wrong. Somehow, the Canadian star survives a beheading to land in his new music video for “Until I Bleed Out,” which is produced by The Weeknd, Prince 85, Notinbed, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Metro Boomin. The clip sees the drugged up XO singer struggling to keep his footing while at a wild confetti-heavy rager in what looks like a theatre, with the world spinning in circles around him. It’s the perfect match for the album closer, as The Weeknd makes it clear that his body has gone as far as it can go following his trippy Vegas exploits:

“I can’t move, I’m so paralyzed, I’m so paralyzed, I can’t explain why I’m terrified, I’m so terrified/

Well, I don’t wanna touch the sky no more/

I just wanna feel the ground when I’m coming down, It’s been way too long/

And I don’t even wanna get high no more, I just want it out of my life…/”

His first official release since 2016’s Starboy, After Hours has scored The Weeknd his fourth number one on the Billboard charts with well over 440,000 equivalent album units. The release has since spawned a Deluxe edition with three extra tracks, as well as a six-song remix EP. In addition, The Weeknd joins only Lil Uzi Vert and Korean boy band BTS as the only acts to sell a half-million units within a two week period this year. All of his successes further ensure that After Hours remains one of the top-selling albums of 2020.
