Earlier this month, Fredo Bang delivered his latest project Most Hated, which saw 12 tracks and features from Lil Baby, YNW Melly, Moneybagg Yo, Tee Grizzley, and more. Following visuals for album cuts “Waitin 4,” “Saucy,” “Trust Issues,” and “Yo Slime,” the Baton Rouge star drops off the brand new single — and visual for — “Top,” which is produced by DJ Chose and sees Fredo rapping about his detractors:

“I beat the case ‘cause I wouldn’t talk, you heard that side of the story, but that s*** was false/

The only ones that want revenge is the ones that lost, I got n***as mad at me because I wouldn’t cross/

Solid as they come, you n***as ain’t bust s***, how long you had that gun?/

Why getting so much hate? I ain’t mad at them, brought them village knives, I threw a bag at them…/”

The short-but-effective visual comes courtesy of ShotByJolo, and begins with footage of what looks like a mob vandalizing Fredo’s image on a wall. We then see the artist riding a bike through the rain, adding to the strong feelings behind the song’s subject matter.

In regards to the struggle, Fredo has been through more than most. His career was put on hold following an arrest and subsequent incarceration for attempted second-degree murder. Not willing to allow the situation to stop his road to success, he get right back to making music following his release in 2018.

In a recent interview with No Jumper, he spoke on the current Coronavirus pandemic and necessary precautions being taken:

“I’ve been thinking about wearing a mask. To protect myself. I don’t wanna die from Corona… You gotta be mindful of your actions.”
