Yesterday, Top Dawg Entertainment lyricist REASON revealed a visual that showed him writing random names down from fellow label mates to unlikely individuals like Donald Trump and Tekashi 6ix9ine. Today, he reveals a new single — as part of TDE Fan Appreciation Week — titled “Might Not Make It,” which sees him referencing all names written over Elite’s top-quality production in a way that calls back to 50 Cent’s “How To Rob”:

“If I only had twenty-four hours left, I’d be harassin’ the youth, kidnap Trump and ghost-ride him, let ‘em crash in the coupe/

I’d have sex with Lori, Rihanna, a Kardashian, too, might just f*** everybody like Kardashians do/

I muck duct-tape some City Girls and roll through the city, they scream, “Periodt” with period blood all over their titties/

Pop a pill or knocked up, they got us rollin’ more, I f*** ‘em on a lil’ boat since he wrote it for him/

Fucked that Stallion in the stable, bend Meg all over the table, she screamin’ out, “Drive the boat” while I’m tryna drive her disabled/”

Previously, fans got to hear new music from Ab-Soul, Zacari, Isaiah Rashad, and SiR. Closing out the week, REASON’s controversial release follows his other 2020 releases “Show Stop” and “Trapped In,” the latter of which features Ab-Soul and fellow west coaster Boogie. All singles will presumably be taken from the emcee’s forthcoming release New Beginnings, which many were privy to during a listening party that went down last month. That album would in turn follow his 2017 official debut There You Have It, which was previously released as a mixtape before REASON’s signing to TDE.

Until New Beginnings makes landfall, fans can enjoy “Might Not Make It” below. It’s clear that TDE has plenty of drops coming before year’s end, so stay tuned.
