Some six months ago, 21 Savage and Summer Walker collaborated on a remix of Jhené Aiko’s Chilombo cut “Triggered.” Today, the two reunite on 21’s new single “Secret,” which takes from Xscape’s 90’s hit “My Little Secret.” As such, the Kid Hazel-produced cut speaks to staying true to a relationship that others don’t need to know about:

I don’t care what these hoes think that they got goin’ on, I’ve been here day one, I know what’s goin’ on/

You ain’t gotta try to tell me, like I know my place, I never went too far, I always find my way, back to you, ain’t no way I could lose you/

Sometimes it’s just things in life just worth keepin’, why we ain’t creepin’? I’m just your little secret/

That’s how, we should keep it, yeah babe, ‘cause you know and I know…/”

“Secret” follows “Immortal,” which was released last Halloween and appeared in a trailer for the video game Mortal Kombat 11. Prior to that, the Atlanta star delivered his chart-topping, Platinum sophomore album I Am > I Was, which boasted appearances from J. Cole, Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q, Post Malone, Offset, Lil Baby, Gunna, Young Nudy, Travis Scott, and more. That project earned 21 his first number one on the Billboard 200 chart, thanks to 131 thousand equivalent album units sold.

In the midst of the current Coronavirus pandemic, 21 Savage has been treating his IG followers to R&B karaoke, serenading his fans with interesting renditions of Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Brandy, Usher, Aaliyah, Monica, Lauryn Hill, and D’Angelo. He also found himself in less positive news thanks to Chicago producer Young Chop, who decided to diss 21 and others seemingly at random.

You can press play on “Secret” below, which is available on all major streaming platforms.
