G Herbo is back with more heat for his fans. Following last year’s appetizer Sessions, the Chicago star returns with a new project titled PTSD, a clear statement about the trauma he’s experienced during his troubled upbringing in the midwest city. He explained the meaning behind the titled to People:
“When the lawyer told me to go see the therapist, it was really just me embracing it. I think I was already aware of the issue, and why I even had to get arrested, or have to carry a gun in the first place. That was probably my first introduction to me embracing my PTSD, but we’re so immune to a lot of this stuff that go on in the inner city with like violence, going to jail and all that kind of s***. I was shot at. I seen my first murder at 9 years old. A lot of this stuff that we encounter on a day-to-day basis, we think is normal just because it’s our reality. We think it’s something we’re supposed to be going through. I feel like in the poverty-stricken neighborhoods, a lot of us are suffering from PTSD.”
The new project comes with 14 tracks and additional appearances from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, BJ The Chicago Kid, Lil Durk, Chance The Rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Polo G, Jacquees, the late Juice WRLD and more. PTSD was preceded by the singles “In The B***h” and “Shooter.”
