The chemistry between collaborators Mozzy and Blxst shines through again on Mozzy’s newest single “Keep Hope.” The two previously joined forces on songs like “I Ain’t Perfect” and “Streets Ain’t Safe.” On the new track, Mozzy opens up with a powerful verse:

Damn, rest in power to the Blackest Panther. I know how your family feel, my granddaddy died of cancer. Rap n****s fillin’ blanks to shit I never answer. Gotta stand for somethin’ when they hold you at a higher standard. Yeah, and live on camera another Black was slaughtered, and Kobe death hit a lil’ harder, all I had was daughters. A.D.D. got n****s up and cashin’ out for water, ask about her. Disrespect Obama when they elected Trump. Pray this COVID-19 won’t be the death of us. You know it’s real niggas eatin’, the game blеssin’ us. Chunkin’ big B’s for Breonna, T and the rest of us.

Earlier in May, Mozzy released Beyond Bulletproof, his fifth studio album, which featured artists like Polo G, Shordie Shordie, and Eric Bellinger and peaked at #43 on the Billboard 200. His follow up, Occupational Hazard, was recorded and released in just a month, fueled by a surge of inspiration. The project includes guest appearances from Wale, Quando Rondo, YFN Lucci, and more, and was led by his singles “Death Is Callin” and the aforementioned “Streets Ain’t Safe” featuring Blxst.

Just last week, California rising favorite Blxst unleashed the deluxe version of his No Love Lost project. The new release sees six additional tracks and new features from Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla $ign, and Bino Rideaux. He swiftly dropped off the visual for one of the new cuts “Pressure,” which closes with “The End” flashing across the screen, meaning it is presumably the finale of Blxst’s video series he kicked off when the original version of No Love Lost initially dropped back in September.
