It’s been a year since Fredo released his debut album Third Avenue, which boasts 13 tracks and appearances from Dave and Lil Dotz. Since then, the north west London emcee has peppered his fan base with high quality singles like “Delicate Gelatin,” “Mulla” with Lil Dotz, “2 Cups” with Stay Flee Get Lizzy, Popcaan and Tory Lanez, “Netflix & Chill,” and — most recently — the polarizing “Hickory Dickory Dock.” This past weekend, Fredo added to the tunes with “What Can I Say,” which is produced by Da Beatfreakz and sees the artist paying tribute to his fallen brothers Billy da Kid and Muscle Gotti:

“Yo, I wrote this for Billy and it’s a letter to Musc’, how did this life get better, then get the better of us? What can I say, darg? My life ain’t a game, darg, these ain’t some friends from the ends, these are my main dargs/

Look up to the sky, my guy was the one, it’s so mad, I ain’t surprised that you died with your gun, over there shootin’ guys, you love riding for fun, so why do them guys act like they’ve been riding on us?/”

The visual starts with Fredo and his red bandana-wearing crew in a cemetery paying tribute to their fallen soldiers. The rapper can also be seen performing his verse somewhere within his presumed stomping grounds.

Prior to Third Avenue, Fredo was making waves with the street projects Get Rich or Get Recalled and the Silver-earning Tables Turn, which were released in 2017 and 2018, respectively. He’s also spent the current year contributing verses to tracks like 334’s “Sirop,” G-Money’s “Hood Dreams,” Lil Friendzone’s “Nightmare on Finger Street,” Kvssy’s “Granted,” and Mist’s “House Party.”
