Back in September, Saba returned to the forefront with the dope cuts “Mrs. Whoever” and “Something In The Water” with Denzel Curry. Following some social media teasing, he adds to the new music with two more tracks titled “So & So” and “Areyoudown? Pt. 2,” the latter of which features Tobi Lou. The Flex Lennon-produed “So & So” also boasts an accompanying visual to match courtesy of Ian Lipton, as well as a description further explaining the melodic single:

“I was talking with some friends recently, and we were talking about vulnerability. My idea or explanation of it immediately went to dealing with adversity and sharing that experience of overcoming it. Everybody kind of came to that conclusion for it. And another friend brought up the fact that sharing joy and sharing happiness is also vulnerable.”

The daedaePIVOT, Daoud, and Mr. Carmack-produced “Areyoudown? Pt. 2” feels more upbeat, acting as a sequel to “Whip (Areyoudown?)” from 2014’s COMFORTZone. Both Saba and Tobi Lou can be heard living their lives as they wish while standing tall on their well-earned fame and success:

“If you make less what you spend, then that is not alright, ay, all these n***as hittin’ women, that is not alright, ayy, I dared hip-hop to be different, they say I’m alright/

Fifty million independent on my Spotify, listen from the start to ending, you can’t spot a lie, my key unlockin’ the doors, I just crossed off all my goals…/”

It’s been a couple of years since Saba liberated the emotionally charged and critically acclaimed album CARE FOR ME, which contained 10 songs and a few assists from theMIND, Kaina, and Chance The Rapper. More recently, he did join forces with his Pivot Gang collective for their official debut project You Can’t Sit With Us, which saw additional collaborations alongside Kari Faux, Smino, Mick Jenkins, and more.
