The premiere of the Saved by the Bell reboot is just a week away, and it was revealed Lil Yachty was tagged in to give his spin on the classic theme song. Keeping the same upbeat and good-spirited tempo as the original tune, Lil Boat hops on the remix and flexes his vocals real quick while singing some of the old lyrics:

When I wake up in the morning, and the alarm gives out a warning, I don’t think I’ll ever make it on time. It’s alright ‘cause I’m saved by the, it’s alright ‘cause I’m saved by the bell.

The series is a popular and well-loved ‘90s sitcom that ran for four seasons on NBC from 1989 to 1993. Thankfully for fans of the original show, the reboot will feature many of the OG cast members, including Mario Lopez who played A.C. Slater and will now make his return as the new gym teacher. Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, and Elizabeth Berkley will be reprising their roles, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar is coming back as California Governor Zack Morris

The last full-length project from Lil Yachty was Lil Boat 3 from earlier this year in May and he’s recently announced that he’ll soon be dropping his next project titled Michigan Boy Boat. In a recent interview, Yachty shares his advice for anyone who is trying to maintain a transition between school and a career, which is fitting for this situation considering the reboot is based around the lives of students:

“If they’re trying to do something like me I’d say just stay creative. It’s all about being innovative. You’ve gotta have those eyes on you and make that next move that’s gonna grab the attention of the world. Again, Tyler is a perfect example. He ate that bug, man! He hung the noose and just went for it.”
