Maintaining his consistency in true Curren$y fashion, the New Orleans native just gifted fans with a new music video for “News On Mute,” the intro track from his recent release The Director’s Cut with Harry Fraud. The fresh visual follows “White Ashes,” another cut from the same project. On the track, Curren$y gets his bars off about why he keeps his TV on mute lately:

“Andretti soundin’ like himself, you gettin’ nervous. Hold it through the Bluetooth, low-rider swervin’. Gracefully through the lane, Dr. Julius Erving. Kush away a pain, listenin’ to the rain. Got the news on mute, I already know what they sayin.’”

Harry Fraud has been an MVP in terms of assists during 2020, as he held down several artists with perfect match level cuts all year. He just recently shared a collaboration project with Bay Area’s very own Larry June titled Keep Going, and also dropped Glass 2.0 with Mayhem Lauren and Eat When You’re Hungry, Sleep When You’re Tired with Jay Worthy. He unleashed a back to back combo with Curren$y, releasing The Outrunners in July then following up with The Director’s Cut later in September.

The duo also dropped La Marina together back in 2018, which featured a smooth West Coast vibe throughout and included features from Smoke DZA, French Montana, Action Bronson, and Wiz Khalifa. Longtime fans of Curren$y are well aware one project per year isn’t enough for him, as he went on to release The Tonite Show with Curren$y with DJ Fresh, Spring Clean with Fuse, 3 Piece Set, Smokin’ Potnas with Fendi P, and The Green Tape with Cardo this year.

In terms of visuals, Curren$y shared a new video for his track “Mugallo Red” featuring Rick Ross, and also assisted Willie The Kid on his new single “Brewster’s Millions.” Outside of music, he also released an exclusive sneaker collab with BAPE earlier this year.
