This month, Queen Naija will release her debut album missunderstood, which is preceded by the singles “Pack Lite,” “Butterflies Pt. 2,” and most recently the Lil Durk assisted track “Lie To Me.” Her latest offering is “Love Language,” which came accompanied by a seductive visual. The official video for “Love Language” is the third in a series of clips helmed by award-winning director Teyana “Spike Tey” Taylor. In the song, Queen sings about wanting to release some tension:

“I gotta little attitude right now. I gotta bone to pick with you right now . Need you to put your fuckin phone down, and meet me up in this room right now. I want your undivided attention. To release all this tension, now come and tell me you miss it before I go missin’. Must I remind you that I got these n***as wishin’. Been actin funny baby why you actin different.”

missunderstood will follow Queen Naija’s 2018 self-titled EP. Following that release, she kept her fans intrigued with the loose cuts “War Cry,” “Away From You,” and “Good Morning Text.” She also contributed to the Black Lives Matter protest soundtrack, joining fellow Motor city artist Tee Grizzley and The Detroit Youth Choir on the socially and politically charged track “Mr. Officer.”

Along with debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, Queen Naija was hailed as “the first soul star of the social media generation” by The New York Times, and earned recognition in the 2019 awards season with nominations for Top R&B Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, Best New Artist at the BET Awards and three nods at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Her self-titled Queen Naija EP was released back in 2018 and includes three platinum-certified singles: “Butterflies,” “Karma” and her breakthrough hit “Medicine.”
