Last Friday (Jan. 14), Cordae unveiled his sophomore studio LP From A Bird’s Eye View, which contains 14 cuts and collaborations alongside Lil Wayne, H.E.R. Lil Durk, Eminem, Roddy Ricch, and more. In terms of visuals, he preceded the release with “FABEV Freestyle (The Heart Part 4)” and followed up with “Today” featuring Gunna.

He also became the latest to hit the revered “Tiny Desk” platform to deliver a few live renditions of his song. His appearance follows recent appearances from the likes of Vince Staples, Young Thug, and the Isley Brothers.

Cordae’s set list includes performances of tracks like “C Carter,” “Want From Me,” “RNP,” “Thousands Word/Thanksgiving Medley,” “Sinister,” “Momma’s Hood,” and “Chronicles.” On the first track of the performance (“C Carter”), he details his come-up as well as how his dreams as a kid have manifested into reality as he has always envisioned:

I used to dream about a Dodge Charger, suicide doors, sittin’ on 24’s/ I was tryna find a job, but shit, why bother? Being broke can make you try harder/ Sittin’ in the house watchin’ Coach Carter, plottin’ on this fuckin’ Cartier, hey

Plus a n***a tryna go farther, I finally arrived and nobody’s here, hey/ I used to dream about a new Hummer, back when G.O.O.D. Music dropped Cruel Summer/ Back when n***as wondered if I’d do numbers/ Check the stats, boy, a nigga doing huge numbеrs

From A Bird’s Eye View follows Cordae‘s critically acclaimed (and Grammy-nominated) debut album The Lost Boy, a 15-song body of work with contributions from Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, Arin Ray, Meek Mill, and Anderson .Paak, the last of whom appeared on the Gold-certified “RNP.”
