Through recent years, Cordae has been one of the leading voices of the younger generation of rap. Since the release of his debut studio album The Lost Boy back in 2019, the 24-year-old lyricist has only gotten closer to reaching a higher household name status. From the different singles to his features and music videos, Cordae is a prime example of what quality raps sound like. What better way to kick the year off than with some audio dope? Today (Jan. 14th), the Maryland rapper drops off his sophomore album From A Birds Eye View.

There is no other way to bring in the new year than to set the tone for 2022 with a blazing entry from the undeniable Cordae. Nearly four years after delivering his first L.A. Leakers freestyle, the From A Birds Eye View rapper unleashed complete heat for the Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk coveted series, with Freestyle 126. Cordae came through to completely take the bar up higher than some of your favorite rappers can meet, according to the 24-year-old emcee. Not holding back during the nearly 10-minute moment, Cordae hit them with a three-piece offering, spitting bars over the late Notorious B.I.G.’s “Kick The Door In,” Jadakiss’ “Put Ya Hands Up,” and Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin.”

The twelve-song album contains two bonus tracks, with features from Eminem (“Parables” remix) and Roddy Ricch (“Gifted”). Other guest appearances include Gunna (who is fresh off his own album release), Lil Wayne, H.E.R., Lil Durk, and more. For “Champagne Glasses,” Cordae collaborates with Nas, Freddie Gibbs, and Stevie Wonder for one of the album’s most anticipated cuts.
