This month, moviegoers will head into theaters (or to their couch and Netflix subscription) to check out the science fiction film Don’t Look Up, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as astronomers looking to alert everyone about an incoming astroid. The ensemble cast also includes Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Ron Perlman, Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi. In addition to taking on their latest acting gigs, Grande and Cudi also contributed to the film’s official soundtrack with “Just Look Up,” a Nicholas Britell-produced number that sees the two harmonizing about unescapable love before jumping directly into the aforementioned movie’s plot in humorous fashion:
“Look up, what he’s really trying to say, is get your head out of your ass, listen to the goddamn qualified scientists, we really fucked it up, fucked it up this time, it’s so close, I can feel the heat big time, and you can act like everything is alright, but this is probably happening in real time, celebrate or cry or pray, whatever it takes, to get you through the mess that we made, ’cause tomorrow may never come…”
