Omar Apollo has returned with his brand new single “Bad Life” featuring Kali Uchis via Warner Records. The track marks Omar’s first release to follow his Spotify Singles cover of “California Dreamin’” and also a rework of this summer’s “Go Away.” “Bad Life” also follows the artist’s recent Latin Grammy nominations for his C. Tangana collaboration “Te Olvidaste” in the Record of the Year and Best Alternative Song categories respectively. On the new track, Apollo delivers some delicate vocals over the soft guitar chords:

You give me nothing but I still change it to something, and I’m still thinking how you touch me, yeah/ That’s a bad life, bad life, that you’re living, ah-oh, that you’re living (Hmm)/ That’s a bad life, bad life, that you’re living, ah-oh

That you’re living, I can be selfish, you laid your head on me heavy/ But I can’t help but think you lust me, yeah/ That’s a bad life, bad life, that you’re living, ah-oh, that you’re living/

Speaking on the themes of the new track, Apollo says: “To me, ‘Bad Life’ represents putting in energy into a relationship and not getting anything in return. It’s a song about being resentful towards somebody — wanting them to have ‘bad life’ with whoever they’re with now. I posted a snippet in January teasing it and Kali called me telling me she loved it, so I asked her if she wanted to get on it. Her voice sounds amazing on it, I love her tone.”

Last November, Uchis delivered her sophomore LP Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios), her first Spanish language album that initially came with 13 cuts and additional appearances from Rico Nasty, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jowell & Randy, and Jhay Cortez. Just last month, a visual for a remix of the standout cut “Fue Mejor” would surface with SZA.
