Jordan Hollywood is steadily gearing up for the release of his upcoming project Only The Paranoid Survive. To prep fans for the body of work, the Florida rapper shares his latest single “Pleasures. In the accompanying visual, a psychotherapist reminds Jordan “Only The Paranoid Survive” before he raps from the couch. As stacks fly, he ends up in a literal battle of tug-of-war before facing off against an entire tactical team. The lyrics dig deep, as he expresses reflections about his mother and also shouts out QC head honchos Coach and Pee as well:
I wake up everyday, I tell my son that I love him, tell my dogs to call my phone whenever they in trouble/ Every time I get a check, I flip and make that shit double, I miss my Mom so much sometimes I wish that I can hug you/ Some people that I loved turned they back on me, it’s unfortunate
Sometimes I just be buyin’ stuff just because I can afford the shit/ Some people leave their guns at home, me, I go on tour with it/ Ain’t about no plays, call my phone and I’ma forward it/ Coach and Pee changed my life forever, I’m always loyal
The song closely follows his recent single “The Ugly Song,” which boast production from the one and only Timbaland. “The Ugly Song” is reworked version of Bubba Sparxxx’s Timbaland-produced single “Ugly” from the early 2000’s.
After a stint in his youth writing for fellow Broward County artist Jason Derulo, Hollywood released a successful independent debut Sorry for This in 2016 and then signed with Quality Control Music for 2018’s FINALLY!. He also appeared on QC’s Control The Streets Vol. 2 compilation project for his track “Testament.”
