Sena Kana, the first solo female Japanese pop artist to hit Gold status in the United States, is back with the official video for new single “Show Me.” The track boasts a feature from the one and only Ty Dolla $ign and production from Poo Bear. The accompanying music video sets the ambiance of the ethereal song, as Kana floats through a body of water while delivering her opening lines:
Don’t you want to show me, what it’s like to be loved?/ Don’t want to take your, words for granted but I need more to hold on to/ My nerves are numb, from all the damage, can you change my mind/ From what I want to do?
Want to take you serious, give me a reason/ It’s wintertime, don’t mess around, and miss your season/ Start you off at zero, got to work your way up, I want to believe in you/ Don’t you want to show me
Sena broke boundaries between borders and styles on the 2019 breakthrough “Up” featuring Sheppard and Wiz Khalifa. The track’s uplifting message immediately resonated with listeners, resulting in a wealth of spins and a gold plaque from the RIAA. Amassing 100 million collective streams and counting across her discography, ”Show Me” continues to present Sena’s introspection and affinity for community and connection.
Ty Dolla $ign has definitely been in a collaborative spirit lately. He recently dropped off his joint project with dvsn titled Cheers to the Best Memories. The multitalented singer can be heard on dope collaborations like Mozzy and YG’s “Vibe With You” visual and also alongside Jack Harlow and 24kGoldn for the new “I Won” single from F9: The Fast Saga official soundtrack. One major gift to fans was the recent “I Believed It” collab with Dvsn, which features a posthumous feature from the late Mac Miller. Back in March, he blessed the masses with a remix of last year’s “By Yourself,” which sees Bryson Tiller joining Ty$, Jhené Aiko, and producer Mustard.
